Chinese delegations explore Garden City model

The Party Secretary of Luzhou City brought a delegation to visit the Institute and tour Letchworth Garden City this week, with a group of government officials that included Party Secretaries of three counties of the city.

The Sichuan Province delegation have a new development on the outskirts of Luzhou, a city of 4 million people, and were keen to find out more about the Garden City model.

A further delegation from China also toured the Institute this week, showing the strong interest in Garden Cities in that country.

Dr Ying Ying Tian, Director of the China Design Centre in London, brought a group which included Wang Key, Director of the Design Management Department of Greentown Group.

He was keen to explore the Garden City model of land ownership,  and explore how to nurture the growth of the town, as well as discussing the vision, culture, and service needed to ‘promote colourful town lives’.

It follows a further visit last month ahead of a conference and exhibition at the China Design Centre exploring China-UK Ideal Town and Garden City.
